Bio

A graduate of Tufts University and the NYU Certificate Program in

Film Production,  Irene Devlin­Weiss worked as International Right

Manager for MGM/UA Home Video from 1981­1987 where she was

responsible for the administration of major licensing agreements

between MGM/UA and CBS/Fox Video, Warner Home Video and

Cannon Films.  In 1986 she produced a 30 minute film, “Undertow,”

that was a selection at the Santa Barbara and Seattle Film Festivals.

After leaving MGM/UA she worked as a Production Office Supervisor

on “Sea of Love” and “State of Grace.”   In 1989 she became a

Production Associate at Cinehaus for Producer Michael Hausman

where she assisted in pre­production, production and post­production

of feature films including “State of Grace,” Milos Forman’s “Valmont”

and David Mamet’s “Homicide.” In addition, she ran the New York

office of Cinehaus and was in charge of development for the company.

She left Cinehaus in 1991 to become Co­Producer with Chrisann

Verges of Ogden Avenue Productions, located in the Tribeca Film

Center, developing and seeking financing for various independent film

projects.  While taking an hiatus to raise two children (her daughter is

currently getting a BFA in Screenwriting at USC’s School of

Cinematic Arts) she has worked as a consultant on several films

including the documentary “Blues by the Beach” and has been

developing narrative and documentary projects of her own.  She is

currently a member of New York Women in Film and Television.

When Women Come Marching Home won a NY Emmy on March 30, 2014. Professor Marcia Rock directed, shot, edited and with Patricia Lee Stotter co-produced it. She was among a group of NYU-connected winners that night.
