Patricia Lee Stotter is an Emmy Awarding winning composer and writer for television, film, theater and interactive media. Stotter composed scores for documentary films including Unchained Memories (HBO), Discovering Women (PBS), From the Ashes (HBO), Reading from the Heart (HBO), Spirit to Spirit (PBS), Three Sisters (HBO) , Dramatic Need (Duaco) and more. Non-documentary work includes the animated short, Suicide Notes (with Elise Tak), Undertow ( Duaco), and incidental music for many plays. Her work for children’s television includes Sesame Street songs for numbers 1-20, letters A-Z and healthy fruits and vegetables, Zoom, and more…
Patricia’s most recent works have been focused on feminism and human rights through the lens of military veterans. Stotter and Marcia Rock produced Service: When WOMEN Come Marching Home, a multi platform documentary. Patty also composed for Warriors Return (Rock), and Justice Denied (Weinstein-Mathews-Miller).
Stotter’s interest in trauma and invisible injuries began when she composed the score for From the Ashes, (Deborah Shaffer), a film exploring how artists living in lower Manhattan responded to 9/11. After working on the testimonial theatre project, Flashback, Stotter created True Rep a repertory company bridging actors, writers, directors, musicians and artists with the human(e) service sector, producing art that healed while exploring trauma and resilience .Through True Rep, Stotter collaborated with student veterans , foster children and their birth mothers,and peer-to-peer mentoring groups for individuals labeled “psychotic” who found the way to return to a happier and more “normal” life.
